Vacation Bible School: Family Style

Vacation Bible School (VBS) 2009 ushered in a new concept of large group instruction and worship for families and their children animated with skits and interactive participation. Because the construction of Bibleopolis restricted the use of building space, children were not able to have individual classrooms with specific age group teachers as in previous years. Approximately 500-600 people gathered in the Worship Center for the evening VBS, June 15-18, 2009. Chris Franklin and his staff chose this unusual concept to introduce the entire family to Bibleopolis which emphasizes children growing up like Jesus in the knowledge of God.

The adults learned some of the knowledge and applications their children were taught in previous Vacation Bible Schools. Each year VBS takes up a collection for a specific purpose. In 2009 $2,600 was raised for a program to share VBS with others in El Salvador as seven adults and six children made the journey during the week of July 25 to August 2, 2009.
